Can you believe I’ve actually figured this out?!?
I never thought I’d see the day I’d be writing my very first blog post. I feel slightly useless and unsure about how to start all this, so I guess I’ll give you some background about me and what’s led me to launch my very own little corner of the internet.
I was never particularly ‘social-media-savvy’, I don’t think I’d even glanced at a blog until about 3 years ago when I stumbled across the very glamourous Rosie at The Londoner whilst googling a recipe for brownies. I just loved her honest but still aspirational way of writing about her life and found it so much more captivating than a magazine. I then found Rosie on Instagram (which until that point I’d thought was some sort of Photo Editor that made your pictures look pretty), Pinterest, Facebook etc… My journey into the infinite world of social media had begun…
This desire to create a little space of my own has felt more of a silly dream than anything else. Like most of us girls would say, life is so busy!! I live in Cheshire with my sweet fiancé and very best friend Colin. Colin has a little boy from a previous relationship called Archie (6 years old). Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m besotted with him and think of him as my own. We also have a little dog called Halle, (you could say she’s my baby from a previous relationship) and it’s safe to say we’re all pretty besotted with her too!
I’m lucky enough to LOVE my day job, but it keeps me VERY BUSY…The thought of using my spare time to sit and figure out all this blogger stuff was kind of unthinkable. However, along came our very own little blessing…I write this post a whopping 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant and therefore on a weird and wonderful thing called MATERNITY LEAVE!!! 🙂
I’ll spare you the ‘I can’t wait to be a mummy to this precious little boy’ mush for now – I’m sure there will be plenty of that later. The reality is that I’m super duper excited to embark on this amazing journey into motherhood and want to document it in some way.
I’m really passionate about food, eating in, eating out. Again, way too busy for fussy long-winded recipes, so hopefully I’ll be able to share with you some of my favourite ‘quick-wins’ in the kitchen. When we get the chance to eat out (baby on the way and all that), I’ll also share my thoughts on some great restaurants.
I work in the beauty industry, and have done for over 12 years. I’m totally at home with my ‘beauty junkie’ title. If I have any tips, tricks or great new products to shout about, I’ll be sure to share those too!
All this will hopefully be washed down with plenty of pretty photographs. I studied photography at uni, but dropped out after falling in love with my beauty job. Since downloading Instagram however, I’ve regained my ‘love of the lens’, so all this will be yet another excuse to keep clicking!!
I hope that my blog becomes an honest, uplifting and positive space. Somewhere I can share a little bit of our life, our loves and document this incredible journey.
